Discover Holiday Art Workshops with Anna

Currently I am offering Painting and Yoga classes and hope to include Photography later in the year.

Anna Heggie is a Professional Artist and Arts Facilitator with a highly esteemed CV of exhibitions in both Painting and Photography. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally and has over twenty years of experience in teaching.

Anna’s Painting and Photography programs led to a 12 part series of a Television program “ Arts Masterclass ” made in Brisbane, in which Anna was an Arts Presenter. Anna is an inspirational teacher and runs Painting Workshops for Brisbane Artist’s Academe, encouraging others to express their creativity.

Anna has also been doing Yoga for about 18 years and became a trained yoga instructor in 2008. She finds that the philosophies of Yoga and the asanas are great to incorporate with Art and life. She has consequently devised a unique program of combining aspects of Yoga, Yoga philosophy, meditation and relaxation with an Art and Writing component that widens self-awareness and promotes creativity.

As well Anna has several workshops planned in Brisbane. These will be an inspirational time for all and Anna will focus on painting, deepening participants knowledge and understanding through the processes.

For those of you who came to the Kedamaian Exhibition series that were held in Canada, Bali and Byron Bay, might like to know that Muhammad Bundhowi and I are now planning to run some Photographic Workshops together in Bali.

They will be especially interesting for those who would like to explore “Photography through the Painter’s Eye.”

PAINTING FOR BEGINNERS ONE DAY WORKSHOPS

The Workshops are held in the artist's studio. Feel inspired and enjoy a day of creative learning and expression. The basics in acrylic painting will be covered, colour mixing and other techniques. Learn in a relaxed environment within a small group. Experience the thrill of learning to paint. Bring a photo or image you might like to paint or an object you treasure or follow a suggestion from Anna.
Enjoy a morning cuppa and a delicious light vegetarian lunch over conversation on the veranda with a view out to the sea.

Canvas paper and student acrylics provided.

PAINTING FOR INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED ONE DAY WORKSHOP

Held in the artist’s studio, this will be a workshop for the intermediate or advanced student who wants to extend or renew their present practise of painting. Work within a subject frame of your own choice. Composition, painting styles, interpretation and the approach to painting will be investigated.
Bring your own painting materials or use the basic studio acrylics for students that are available. Enjoy a morning cuppa and a delicious vegetarian lunch over conversation on the veranda with a view out to the sea.

PAINTING IN OILS WORKSHOP: FROM THE MANNEQUIN

Held in the artist’s studio, this will be a more intensive workshop for those who want to extend into oil painting or choose to paint in oils as their preferred medium. We will work from a set-up of store mannequins which provide fascinating subject matter. Composition and tonal painting will be the emphasis of this workshop.
Bring your own painting materials for this workshop (i.e. oil paints, medium, brushes, palette and easel if you have one)

A non invasive artist’s odourless turpentine will be provided on the day as well as a high quality linen canvas stretcher approx 60 x 45 cm provided for each participant.

ART WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN (9 – 12 years of age)

We will explore a range of options in this class including Drawing, Painting and Mixed Media. Small class size allows for plenty of individual attention.

SENIORS ART WORKSHOP FOR THE OVER SIXTY-FIVES

This art workshop will commence with a short artist’s talk by Anna. There will be a more social emphasis and a sense of fun. Art will be created whilst seated at tables for more comfort and includes using a range of art materials on paper. The workshop will contain a mystery set of art-tasks for you to do. Each one will be a surprise and requires you to simply participate and enjoy.

Fundamentals of Painting Course at
Brisbane Art Workshops

The course is specifically designed for the beginner to intermediate student.  Learn about colour and colour mixing, tone, perspective, composition and design principles, about the different types of paint, brushes and canvases available as well as oil and acrylic painting techniques.

Anna will help you evolve your own particular style according to what direction you want to take your arts practice, whether as a hobby or to progress as a serious artist.  Anna is one of the presenters on the QCTV television show “Masterclass”, is an internationally recognized photographer and painter, working from her studio in Lennox Head.
